GALLERY: Strap on your skates ’cause you’re going in! The 3rd instalment of the annual King Of The Burleigh Hill gravity event ran this afternoon with everything from hay bales, water bombs, wheels and the odd bit of skin flying down the Goodwin Terrace hill at Burleigh Point.
Unfortunately due to the near-extreme winds howling in from the northeast, the planned BMX big air and closing fireworks had to be cancelled, but that didn’t take a thing away from the massive crowd’s focus on the racing.
We dropped by for a bit and snapped a few shots of the action – more fun than the surf was looking that’s for sure! Big congrats to our mate and local skate racing legend Adam Yates for taking out the open downhill skate race against some tough competition, off to Wahoos for a feed mate, you earned it!
