The Video That Will Change Surfing Forever – Slater’s Wave Pool Reveal

by

“I’m 100% positive our team built the best wave that anyone’s ever made – it’s a freak of technology.” – Kelly Slater has unveiled the most prolific man-made wave ever, showing the longest and most perfect rippable barrel ever produced by machine and man.

The quick video (below) released just hours ago shows a shoulder high and absolutely perfect right-hand barreling wave, that appears to be stable, powerful enough and probably the dream wave of every recreational surfer in history – be it longboarder, barrel rider or air enthusiast.

Perfection meets power – Kelly’s new wave will shake the foundations of wave riding itself

No word on where how and what – just a few claims from Kelly himself. After watching the first wave break for the first time he threw his arms up saying, “Oh my God, no way, what?”

Kelly added, “I think it’s a big thing for surfing, if done the right way. We wanted, like, an elite-level way, but scaled back – you can always scale it back … this is our little secret spot, about 110 miles from the coast.”

All we can add, is it’s so damn good by the looks of it that we should have ten in each city in Australia … today!

Is this the best slow motion surf clip ever produced? 1000FPS Phantom

by

Chris Bryan is the man behind the lens, and he’s squeezed his high tech Phantom camera into some incredible places just to bring us this amazing reel of footage, exposing some of the intricate and insane things that can happen in just a few seconds of life, if we slow down long enough to see them. Water droplets from offshore spray and aerial surfing never looked so good, plus his incredible splice of cut-away shots that complete this majestic video. Enjoy! This is icredible, but we baulk at awarding the title, with George Greenough’s in the lip tube vision still something unrivaled to behold – given the era in which George created it, and the equipment (or rather lack of equipment) available at the time, we don’t think there’ll ever be anything like it.
